Thirty Second PSI

[action 1]
[Inspired by Japan, Crowe, and remembering the words of others who had spoken to him recently, Lucas, too, has decided that it is time he reclaim some of his lost battle skills. Once strong enough to stand to all but the deadliest of chimeras, the boy hasn't fought now in over a year . . .
Still, he can manage a sandbag propped up on a broomstick. The problem had been to get the stick not to snap immediately with a single hit, but he had managed by tying several together. Being shier in nature, Lucas is holed up in his backyard and practicing hard. It is possible, though, to hear his occasional shouts or grunts or even the thump of his bat smashing against the bag. Those who investigate will find that the boy has little technique whatsoever . . . He simply hits as quickly and powerfully as he can. But he moves with an awkward fluidity, and it appears he normally fights with chained attacks - 'comboing' hits with kicks, punches, and blows as he ducks and weaves and almost occasionally seems to glide through the air.]
[action 2]
[The accident happens about an hour in. Caught up in the fervor of combat, Lucas smashes the sandbag hard enough that it flies straight up into the air. And instinctively, with some sort of retained muscle memory, he thrusts out a hand and cries out.]
PK Flash!
[And immediately regrets it. The pulsing ball of green light gathers for a few moments before barreling outward to smash into the sandbag, catching it up and propelling it high into the air. Reaching about thirty feet in altitude, the PSI energy eventually flares outward in a massive burst of green light clearly visible from a distance. The sandbag explodes.
Lucas drops his bat and runs to his front yard. If you're anywhere nearby, he'll be running up to you with an expression of severe panic.]
. . . Are you alright?! Are you feeling OK?! You . . . Please say you didn't see the light!
((Lucas's PK Flash has odd effects. It's a burst of psychokinetic energy infused light that alters the brainwaves of those who see it. To be brief, PK Flash causes spontaneous crying to the point where your character is blinded by their own tears, paralysis, which is self-explanatory, feeling strange, which can be interpreted as violent hallucinations and delirium, or instant death. Or nothing, of course. Please don't choose the death option, aha.))

Date: 2011-03-14 08:08 pm (UTC)He's found a handkerchief somewhere in that fancy outfit of his, and presses it to his eyes and holds it there with the air of someone plugging a dam. The other hand finds Lucas' shoulder, resting there to steady himself.]

Date: 2011-03-15 02:43 am (UTC)The boy will reach up and begin to slowly apply his remaining PSI power.]

Date: 2011-03-15 08:44 pm (UTC)Even though there was no genuine emotional outburst of any sort tied to that, he feels rather exhausted from the crying all the same. To say nothing of his eyes burning a bit. But he can see again, which is the important thing...and the first thing he does is turn a concerned, questioning look on Lucas.
Just what was that all about?]

Date: 2011-03-17 12:55 am (UTC)..... I think I told you I was a psychic, right?

Date: 2011-03-17 01:05 am (UTC)Whether or not it had ever come up before, Silence isn't surprised that Lucas has psychic abilities. After all, his own world has Mind magic, which are essentially psychic abilities in any case...though of different, more limited utility than what Lucas has demonstrated. Nonetheless, it doesn't seem particularly strange to him.]

Date: 2011-03-17 01:14 am (UTC)That light you saw . . . I guess the easiest way to say it is that it messes up your brain. I'm really sorry . . .

Date: 2011-03-17 01:20 am (UTC)In response to the apology, he comfortingly pats Lucas' shoulder. As far as unpleasant experiences went, that one was relatively brief and harmless, aside from some aching eyes that are even redder than usual.]

Date: 2011-03-17 01:25 am (UTC)[There is a feeble sort of motion to get back on his own feet, but all he accomplishes is to flop back onto Silence.]
....... In a few minutes.

Date: 2011-03-17 01:34 am (UTC)Not that there's any rush. Silence isn't going anywhere, so Lucas is free to lean on him as long as he needs. And when he is ready to move, Silence can at least offer support. For the moment, he soothingly strokes the boy's hair - the most comfort he can offer without words.]

Date: 2011-03-18 02:48 am (UTC). . . I'll be OK. Thanks. And I'm sorry again.
[With a small smile, he'll retreat back a few steps and begin to head slowly to the stairs.]
