Did anyone find out anything interesting at the party? I think I might've gotten something . . . I don't know if it's important. It seems as if Billy is nice as long as you play along -- He likes fire a lot, and he likes it when you don't mind about him setting them. If you say anything about it, though, he gets upset really quickly.

It might be nothing. I don't know. If anyone runs into him, though . . . try and humor him. . . . Maybe things would have gone differently if I agreed.

[For anyone who runs into him, Lucas now dons a stylish hat pulled down low over his face, and a strip of cloth cut as a mask wrapped around the top of his head with a single eyehole for his right eye. If anyone asks, he is playing cops and robbers. He bumps into things a lot.]

... I got burnt a little too, I guess. It doesn't hurt or anything, though, 'cause I'm too strong for stupid pranks like that.

But Billy shouldn't hurt kids like you. That's just low.

Are you sure you're OK? If you need any healing or medication or anything, I have some of both . . .

W-well... I guess if you really want to help me or something... It kinda still hurts a bit. It's not like I need help or anything, though.

[ Opens the door! She's got bandages around the left side of her face and her hair is short now, but she's got the same bratty expression always. ]

What took ya so long? Anyway, come in. [ Walks back inside. Archy is sitting on the couch with a roll of bandages. He may or may not have helped Wy put new bandages on. ]

So how does this work?

[ . . . Look who has almost the exact same injuries. Lucas has covered himself up with a hat and a mask, though.]

Hey, Wy.

. . . Well. It doesn't look as if your burns are too deep, so I think I'll just use my PSI without, um. Other procedures. There'll still be a little scarring.

S-scarring?! My... my face... I don't want there to be scarring! [ Really just a teenage girl deep down. ]

You have to find a way to fix the scarring too.

Scarring is dead tissue, Wy. The only way I know is to . . . cut it out.

But... but... F-fine, it's not like I care. I-I'm still lovely anyway! [ Pouting because she is extremely mature. ]

So what'd Billy do to ya? Your disguise is awful, just so ya know.

Yeah, you are.

[Lucas smiles gently as he begins to lift a shining hand towards her face.]

. . . . . . I got . . . burned a little, too.

[ She stands still, though she's obviously a little nervous. ]

Well, I mean, what'd he do to ya exactly? ... Or make ya do?

[It probably doesn't hurt at all. The tissue underneath the burn is reforming into its proper shape as the cells begin to regenerate. Lucas keeps talking.]

I got on the stove and turned it on and stayed there.

[ Wy seems amazed at this, but she tries her best to hide it. Mature adults are surprised by things like this! She feels bad for him, but she really has no idea how to express it. ]

Y-you should be more careful next time, stupid. 'Cause if you don't, I'll have Archy follow you around and protect ya.

We should've all been more careful. We're not the only ones . . . I don't think any of us should go off alone with them again.

[All good now. Lucas brings his hand away.]

How does that feel?

Just as long as I can beat Billy up next time I see him, I'll be fine.

[ She touches her face. ] ... A lot better. Th-thanks, I guess... Though I could have done it myself!

. . . You could probably do that even with your burns. Um. I mean, you'd be physically capable of, but he'd probably mind control you into beating yourself up.

You don't need to thank me. It'd be pretty stupid if I had healing powers and never used them.

I'll get past that stupid mind control thing he does. An artist's mind is free, he can't expect to control me that easily.

Are those powers normal where you come from? 'Cause I've never seen anything like 'em.

I don't think that's the sort of free they mean when they say that. If that sort of thing makes you immune to mind control, though, I'd better learn to draw faster.

Well . . . not normal, but most people know that things like that can happen. By now, anyway.

I'm sure it does, 'cause artists are better than stupid drone-things. And so ya should. Learn to make poems too.

Teach me how to do it, then!

. . . Poems? I'm not too sure about that. I think mine would all end up sounding the same.

I don't know if I can. I don't even know how I learned it, but . . . I can try if you want.

As long as ya try and they rhyme, it's a good poem. Kids are the future of the arts, so ya gotta.
