Did anyone find out anything interesting at the party?  I think I might've gotten something . . . I don't know if it's important.  It seems as if Billy is nice as long as you play along -- He likes fire a lot, and he likes it when you don't mind about him setting them.  If you say anything about it, though, he gets upset really quickly.

It might be nothing.  I don't know.  If anyone runs into him, though . . . try and humor him.  . . . Maybe things would have gone differently if I agreed.

[For anyone who runs into him, Lucas now dons a stylish hat pulled down low over his face, and a strip of cloth cut as a mask wrapped around the top of his head with a single eyehole for his right eye.  If anyone asks, he is playing cops and robbers.  He bumps into things a lot.]

[Well hi, Lucas, if it isn't just the last person in the world you could conceivably want to see right now. He was just walking down the street to clear his head, hands jammed in his pockets, when he noticed you bopping into crap.

Right now, he's just staring. Not in amusement or schadenfreude. Just...staring.]

[There's a phone call from the hospital, followed by a distant, groggy voice. Somehow Luke's managed to push the phone off the hook despite not having thumbs.]

[Crowe sees him out on the street, taking a second to look to recognize him under the hat and bandage. He goes to get your attention as you bump into a mailbox.]

[He smiles, embarrassed that someone has seen him being so clumsy. Then again, it isn't exactly hard to notice.]

[Lucas hesitates a little before answering. Though he's known Duster most of his life, it was still hard to admit something like that -- Actually, it was all the harder because of it.]

. . . I messed up, I think. The sort of thing I warned you about . . . happened.

[He didn't want to make anyone worry, because the last thing he needed was to have others in Mayfield be bothered with his troubles. Ness gave a standard response, sounding monotone in his voice, hoping not to rise suspicion to himself.]

I made it through the night, sure, but...not okay. [He's still in pain, and in shock to a degree as well - not to mention burned out on adrenaline. So he sounds a little subdued at the moment.] I got caught.
