I'm sorry for what happened.  I didn't mean any of it, of course, b-but.  It still happened . . .  And I still did what I did.  I don't know if I can really apologize enough.  I'm sorry.  I'm really sorry . . .

[There is sniffling for a few moments before Lucas seems to calm down.]

I don't know if I can make up for it . . . But I heard people are still hurt after everything that happened.  I can try to heal you if you want . . . I know people will ask, but it's kinda . . . it's magic.  And I can fix blindness, too . . .

I'm really, really sorry.

[After this call, Lucas can be found sitting on his front porch looking extremely dejected.  He is aimlessly throwing a yo-yo back and forth, and although he's not doing anything particularly impressive, he seems to have some skill.]

[Knock knock a few minutes later. Lucas is still throwing a yo-yo with his right hand although his left seems to be heavily bandaged.]

Hi. My name is Lucas . . . Were you the one who needed help?

[She smiles as she opens the door. Though she can't see anything.]

Ah ...yes. My name is Ukraine.

Nice to meet you. Don't you have anyone to help you?

[He reaches to take hold of the woman's hand to guide her to a seat.]

[She'll take his hand and let him guide her]

Am the only person here. Everyone else is a drone. One of the children was helping me for a while but she had to go somewhere with her father.

[Shakes her head, her smile dropping away]

[Lucas spends a few moments examining Ukraine's blind eyes before making his diagnosis.]

I think it will work. Do you want me to give it a try?

[She nods at this]

[As he has done before, Lucas sets aside the yo-yo and clumsily closes Ukraine's eyelids. His hands glow for a few moments with the power of his healing PSI before he presses his thumbs against the woman's eyes. After a few moments, the glow transfers to Ukraine's body and sinks into the afflicted area.

Lucas shakily steps away.]

That's PSI Healing Beta. . . . What do you see now?

[Lucas unprotestingly allows himself to be hugged, smiling slightly, too.]

It is...oh it is! Didn't think I'd be able to see anything ever again.

[He seems relieved that it's worked even better than he had hoped it would.]

It's a little hard to explain. I guess most people think of it as magic.
