Eighth PSI

Hi, everyone.

Um.  I guess this is kind of a silly thing to mention, but I'd like to say that what I got back the other day was my PSI.  I think most people think of it as magic . . . But it's a bit different.  Anyway, most of the PSI I know is used for defense and healing.  So if anyone is ever hurt or anything, please let me know.  I'm sure a lot of other people here know healing magic, too, but I'll be glad to fix you up as well as I can, which is, well.  Pretty good, actually.  I can heal mostly anything . . . As long as you're not actually dead, Lifeup will do the trick.  Oh.  I can't turn people back from stone either.  Which actually happens more often than you'd think it would.

I was thinking about finding a job at the hospital . . . But I don't think they take kids.

 AH!  Mr. Captain . . . He -- I think he's dead.  W-What should I do?  When will he come back?! . . . . . How could something like this have happened already?

It's not really that special . . . Most anyone who knows PSI can heal. I just do it better than most since I don't know any of the basic attack PSI.

W-Well, I said I couldn't turn anyone back from stone. But I got my Shield, too.

It's, um. A PSI Shield. A shield made of PSI, I mean, not a shield against PSI -- That's Psycho Shield.

Oh, I can talk to animals again. It's pretty cool. [Y'know, not worth the hell on Earth he went though to get it, but... still. Nice to have it back.]

That's pretty cool. I think Luke can do that, too. Maybe the two of you can send secret messages to each other by squirrel.

A lot of animals where I come from could talk, too. . . . Or maybe that was just because I knew PSI. But I think that's a pretty special thing. You can start a club or something.

A couple of animals can talk to everybody back home-- mostly just magic ones, like Bollo. But I'm the only one I know that can talk to all of 'em.

I'm considerin' it... The Talkin' to Animals Club, yeah, that'd be genius! And y'can be an honorary member 'cause y'thought of it!

Aha. And there are a lot of 'pets' around, too, who would probably like that. I bet most of them can talk to animals since they're animals themselves.

I'm not sure about that. I heard something about murders before I got here . . . At least a lot of the things that happened were just accidents.

Murders... It's sorta sad, innit? Dyin' used to mean somethin', even if it meant somethin' awful. Now I hear people're bein' murdered, and I think, "Well, they'll be back tomorrow, ain't so bad, really." I don't like thinkin' like that.

Y-Yeah. I guess . . . It's kinda like life doesn't mean as much here. I'm not sure what to really think about it. Of course, it's good that nobody really dies, but.

Anyway, what happened was a lot better than people killing each other on purpose.

People're still killin' each other on purpose though, yeah? Y'hear it over the phones all the time. That's another thing 'bout this place. You've got the good people-- me, you, most everybody else-- and then you've got the bad people, who're just doin' whatever they want without worryin' 'bout anybody else. S'not fair that we've got to worry 'bout each other and the town!

. . . There will always be a few people who aren't very nice, but most people really are good inside. Anyway, we should really all do what we can to fight against the town.
