I understand. Life isn't as simple as knowing things will turn out alright in the end. Happy endings and fairy tales and pots of gold at the end of rainbows . . . Those aren't real. They're just stories.
War and death, corruption . . . betrayal, selfishness, deceit. Those are the things you start to believe in once you see too much of it. But if everyone believes in those things, then . . . It's hopeless, isn't it?
