[Well. It had been a day or two since being rescued from Westport, and Lucas finally felt well enough to return to his daily activities. After the first day of binging, the thought of eating more food had been slightly nauseating, actually. When he's finished with school, he will make a call about something that's been on his mind since returning.]

Ah. Hi, everyone. This is Lucas. Um. First off, I'd like to say thanks to whoever it was that brought us all back. . . . I really don't want to think about what would have happened to us if you hadn't come. I think Vince said your name was Mr. Doctor...

The other thing is, I'd like to talk to the people who were in Westport last year. Did any of you take a look around for more clues . . . ? I guess no hazmats means no clues, and I don't really mind that, but. I know I didn't find anything important. . . . There were a few things, though - Some things that were odd. There wasn't a church or a library. And, Kay, do you remember the television in the house you hid in last year? I went back to the same house, and . . . there wasn't anything there. But I know it was the same. The place where the TV had plugged into, it was missing entirely.

. . . I'm not sure what any of this means, but it might be important to think about.

[It almost hits Lucas in the face again but his wobbling hands somehow manage to grasp ahold of the very far edge in time.]

[Harley drops down onto the lower branch and hangs upside-down from it before dropping and landing on her feet.]

Oh that? I'm good at gymnastics.

Is that what flipping off of tree branches is called? I don't think we had a name for that.

Nah, that's just flipping. Gymnastics is a sport. It's real fun. I did it in high school, got me into collage too.

[OK he knows what high school is by now and college is that vague thing people say you can try to get after you're done with high school, but . . . ]

Do you have to play a sport to get into school? It seems a little weird that they don't let anyone who wants to go, go.

Nope. But if you're really good at somthin' like baseball or gymnastics. You can get into Collage easier and pay less to go there.

. . . The world is a lot more complicated in the future, huh? Can playing Frisbee get you into college?

Oh yeah.

Hmmm...I dunno. Maybe. That would be neat.

Well. We're just doing it for fun, anyway. I'm going to throw it again, OK?

[Lucas the frisbee prodigy will manage not to land it too out of the way this time. Just in some bushes twenty feet away.]

[Luckily for him he has pretty much one of the cheeriest teachers ever.]

[Harley skips after it.]

Oh, sorry . . . ! I can get it in the future if I throw it wrong!

That's okay! It's part of the fun!

Okay, get ready to catch it!

[And just going to grab it off the ground and flick it back to him.]

[Lucas once again performs a two-handed, pancake smash sort of deal to catch the spinning disc before it strikes the ground. ... Surprisingly enough, it goes smoothly, even though he has to leap to the side a little.]

I'm throwing it back!

[Whoosh! Oh wow beginner's luck it dips to the right too much but otherwise nothing untoward happens again.]

Great job!

[Harley leaps to the right, just managing to catch it and not fall on her face.]

Wow, you even did it with one hand!

[yes lucas that is generally the right way.]

Yeah. You'll be able to do it too if you play enough.

Is there any kind of trick to it? I'm having enough trouble with two.

I don't think so. You've just gotta watch where it goes so you know when to grab for it!
