U-Um.  Sorry about all the weird stuff I did this weekend.  I don't think I actually hurt anyone, but . . . I think I said a lot of rude things.  The, um.  Psychic PSIclone is setting down his cape.  Permanently.  And if I did hurt you, let me know and I'll make it up to you.

I'd like to make a request of you all.  It's a little strange, but.  It would help me a lot.  I'm asking for someone -- or several . . . ones -- to attack me.  The more powerful you are, the better.  And . . . you can use PSI or magic or anything else you know how to use, too.  . . . Maybe even a gun.

Thanks.  Just come by my house if you want to try.  I don't have anything else to do today.

[Elevator music plays for a few more seconds before Lucas gives the A-OK sign and sits back up to face Hope.]

I . . . I think I'm going to boost to the maximum amount of defense I can manage.

[After fully increasing his defenses as high as they possibly can go, Lucas stands again, body blazing with PSI. His skin, if Hope had felt it, was hard to the touch.]

I'm ready.

( hope is still a little unsure, but he nods and looks up to the eidolon. )

Same as before, Alexander. ( the eidolon does nothing more than take a step forward, raising a fist and striking. )

[Once again, Lucas slides back, but he remains on his feet this time, leaving a trail of flattened grass across the yard. Arms crossed in front of his face, there is an expression of determination with little trace of pain.

Full damage reduction: 80%.]

( he frowns, peering toward the other from where he's standing. )

Do you want him to keep going?

. . . Can you tell me how strong of a punch that was compared to what it's normally like?

Mm, around half. . . if not less.

Alexander is usually able to send things as big as a house flying into the air with one of his punches, more so if he uses one of his stronger attacks.

Okay. Alexander, think you can do that? ( he looks up to the eidolon with a tilt of his head, alexander giving a sound before raising his arm and balling his hand into a fist. bringing it down a brief moment later in another quick strike. )

[As the fist comes down on top of him, the Shield crackles and Lucas vanishes from sight. That was probably a bad idea. When the dust clears, his defenses are collapsed and Lucas is sitting down with a dazed expression on his face in a crater about four feet into the ground.]

. . . I think maybe I'll get some more practice before we go any further.

( hope can't help running up to the sight, sitting on his knees and looking down into the crater once the dust clears. glancing up toward alexander after a moment and giving a small smile. )

That might be a good idea, um, Alexander? Could you? ( he just nods at the crater, but the eidolon seems to understand well enough. bending over and sticking his hand down into the crater. ) Alexander will help you back up.
