Did anyone find out anything interesting at the party? I think I might've gotten something . . . I don't know if it's important. It seems as if Billy is nice as long as you play along -- He likes fire a lot, and he likes it when you don't mind about him setting them. If you say anything about it, though, he gets upset really quickly.

It might be nothing. I don't know. If anyone runs into him, though . . . try and humor him. . . . Maybe things would have gone differently if I agreed.

[For anyone who runs into him, Lucas now dons a stylish hat pulled down low over his face, and a strip of cloth cut as a mask wrapped around the top of his head with a single eyehole for his right eye. If anyone asks, he is playing cops and robbers. He bumps into things a lot.]

. . . What happened?

I had my shirt set on fire, ( pause. ) He gave me such a... evil look before it happened, I guess I should have figured something was wrong.

An evil look . . .

[Lucas pauses at that point. There hadn't been anything but a childish smile, even when Billy had been controlling him into burning himself.]

So he really doesn't like being ignored. Are you alright? Um. Hope, right? Do you need any healing?

Seems not. And, yeah, it's Hope. But, ah, if it isn't any trouble for you that would be... really nice. My back is, well, it's a little messed up from it.

[Lucas pauses, recalling the procedure he had performed on himself immediately following his own injury.]

I can heal the wound, but if there's a lot of dead tissue, it will scar. Are you OK with that?

( there's a quiet moment on hope's end before he speaks: ) Yeah, I'm okay with scars. I'm more worried about ending up with an infection, or worse.

. . . I'll clean it before I close up the wound, then.

[In his haste to try and be of help, Lucas has forgotten that he himself is a bit of a sight. He suddenly realizes this.]

Oh. A-And, um. I'm going to come wearing a mask. I know it's weird, but I . . . lost a bet to someone so now I have to do it for a week. Just letting you know.

Thanks, a lot.

A—ah, okay, that's... fine? Thanks for the, uh, warning. ( pause. ) O—oh, and I'm at 453 Stone Street.

I'll be right over.

[Soon enough, there is a knock on the door. When Hope lets Lucas in, he will be treated to a boy wearing a cowboy hat and a mask that only covers the left side of his face but somehow stays on.]

( hope ignores the get-up in favor of his wounds being healed, clutching his bandaged wrist with a sigh. if only his magic had came back with his brand, then maybe this wouldn't have...

once the other is done, he rolls his shoulders before fixing his shirt and standing. )

Thanks again, are you— ( a beat, and he shakes his head. ) Never mind, just thank you.

[The burns hadn't been too severe, thankfully, and Lucas has done the best he could. He is running a bit low on PSI by now, though.]

Um. . . . Am I what?

Right, I'll remember that.

. . . I was going to ask if you were going to be okay, ( he looks to his wrist. ) I know that healing can take a lot of a person.

Oh, thanks. Please don't worry about it. I just get really tired when I run out of PSI, but it replenishes itself when I go to bed. Your wound wasn't too bad . . .

How does healing work for you, Hope?

Heh, yeah. I didn't think so... ( he pauses, looking thoughtful. )

I'm not quite sure how it works exactly, each spell sort of came to me naturally as time when on when I got my magic. But, I usually have four different healing spells though, two for use on a single person and the other two are for multiple people at once.

That's the same way with me, too. Actually . . . I think the Magypsies tried to explain it once, but it went over my head a lot. The more experienced I got at fighting, the broader my powers became, and the more powerful PSI I could use.

Something like that. And every time I learn a new PSI, I get sick.

Do your spells have names?

I'm sure there's some meaning behind how our magic works, but it's basically the same; the more we fought, the stronger we became.

Well, in some areas anyway. We each had our primary roles we were better at.

Ah, yeah. Cure, Cura, Curasa and Curaja.

[He nods with a smile at that.]

I thought so. There are a lot of people -- Well, not a lot, but a few -- who use that sort of magic. Have you met Miss Garnet?

Yeah, I have actually. I didn't know we shared similar magic though. ( a beat. ) Well, I guess it makes sense. Considering both our worlds have the Eidolon, and ones that are rather similar to one another too.

Eidolon . . . ? I'm not too sure what you mean by that.

Right, um, let's see... back where I'm from they're entities we can summon into battle. They're sort of tied to us in a way, in that they first appear when we're at our lowest point. They show up and help push us on the right path and give us the strength to carry on.

( plus the whole, fighting them and winning or die aspect. but hope figures it's would be best not to go into all that. )

So it's like having a guardian angel? That must be pretty useful. Is yours here with you?

[Lucas had one of those. All she really did was show up in people's dreams to give warnings about making haystacks, though.]

I guess that's one way of putting it. And no, Alexander hasn't shown up yet. But Garnet got one of her Eidolon back, so maybe he'll show up soon too.

Mm . . . Was this when she was talking about something called . . . Bapawhat over the phone? I didn't ask her about it, but that would make sense.

I'm sure you'll get him back soon. If he's a guardian, he'll be glad to be with you, too, right?

Heh, Bahamut.

And I hope so anyway, and yeah it would be nice to have him. Just for the comfort of having him there.
