I'm sorry for what happened.  I didn't mean any of it, of course, b-but.  It still happened . . .  And I still did what I did.  I don't know if I can really apologize enough.  I'm sorry.  I'm really sorry . . .

[There is sniffling for a few moments before Lucas seems to calm down.]

I don't know if I can make up for it . . . But I heard people are still hurt after everything that happened.  I can try to heal you if you want . . . I know people will ask, but it's kinda . . . it's magic.  And I can fix blindness, too . . .

I'm really, really sorry.

[After this call, Lucas can be found sitting on his front porch looking extremely dejected.  He is aimlessly throwing a yo-yo back and forth, and although he's not doing anything particularly impressive, he seems to have some skill.]

[Knock knock knock a little while later on the door. Lucas's own hand is still bandaged, although his right hand is still absentmindedly throwing the yo-yo.]

[And Zero opens the front door, his hair a mess and his right leg not looking particularly good. He's not going to let severe pain keep him from walking around, though.]

[Lucas refrains from saying anything about Zeros' condition, although his eyes widen just a bit.]

Uh-huh. Um. Please sit down -- You probably shouldn't be walking on that.

It's more of a nuisance than anything else.

[He listens, though, and sits in a nearby chair.]

[Lucas follows, setting his yo-yo down on a nearby table and kneeling beside Zero as he sits.]

What happened? Was this a punishment?

I've had worse, but in this body this is going to hold me back. Just how well can you fix this?

If I had my full power, I could fix it completely. But it's different for each person . . . If you don't mind, then, I'm going to go ahead.

[Lucas's hand begins to glow with the power of his PSI as he traces the contours of Zero's leg. The glow seems to wrap around the wound for a few moments before diffusing into the leg as the wound begins to heal.]

[Zero watches silently, then once Lucas finishes he'll stand on the leg. It's still a bit sore and quite stiff, but it's much better than agonizing pain.]

It's not really anything I had to work hard to learn, though. I'm just glad I can help people when they need it.

The importance of a power isn't entirely in how you got it. What it can do and how you use it are what makes it have meaning.

Some of us weren't given things like the power of healing. Some of us can only destroy. For that, you're someone to envy.

[Lucas is perceptive enough to realize that Zero is speaking of himself. He nods.]

Thank you. You know, there are uses for destructive PSI and things like that, too, but there's nothing more important to me than protecting other people.
